RSVP Nowfor February 19th Forum Responsible Reform: Protecting Citizen Initiatives
The constitutionally guaranteed right of Arizonans to
enact law through initiative is under attack. Problems with misleading
language and fraudulent signatures were abundant in 2008. How can we
address valid concerns while precluding legislators from an all-out
power grab? What kinds of changes would resolve the current breakdowns
while protecting the ability of grassroots organizations to place
measures on the ballot? We'll hear the pros and cons of the various
proposals under consideration from Rep. Kyrsten Sinema, Attorney
Stephanie Nichols-Young, and Sandy Bahr of the Sierra Club.
