Keeping the People, not Fat Cats in the driver's seat: The Future of Clean Elections in Arizona Thursday, November 19th
Eleven
years ago Arizona voters wisely passed the Citizens Clean Elections Act. Since
then the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and its friends have tried to kill
it.They
don't like voters interfering
with their back-room choices of who may run for elective office, and
they plan
to place a repeal of Clean Elections on the 2010 ballot. At the
same time,
the health care debate has brought into sharp focus the overwhelming
influence of big-money on public policy. We must strengthen and expand public campaign financing, not eliminate it. Come hear
from leading stakeholders and advocates about how you can help in this critical
fight!
