The Extraordinary Power of Ordinary People: Activists’ Wins Against Local Despot

For years Sheriff Arpaio’s approval ratings have been among the highest of any elected official in the state.  Conventional wisdom said no one could touch him and few dared.  Yet today his approval rating stands at 39 percent, more than 40 points below his peak.  The Feds have revoked his 287(g) authority that allowed his deputies to act as immigration agents.  The Dept. of Justice is investigating him for abuse of power and intimidation of elected officials.  He is being evicted from his luxury offices in the Wells Fargo Tower. Come hear from the ordinary people who are standing up to Arpaio and chipping away at his stronghold!
